John was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1946. He is a retired electrical engineer and educator. He earned AA, BSEE, and MSEE degrees in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from American River College, California State University Sacramento, and Stanford University, respectively.
He recently completed a course of art studies at Contra Costa College, where he focused on drawing and painting and earned an AA degree. John is currently focused on painting in acrylics and continuing his art studies at the Richmond Art Center.
During his career as an engineer, he worked for the University of California (UC), and two small companies in the East Bay and Silicon Valley. After retiring from UC, he worked as an adjunct professor at Laney College in Oakland, CA where he taught classes in electricity, electronics, mathematics, and electric motors and motor drives.
John is a veteran, having served in the USAF (1964-68).
