After a career in editing, Abigail Bok has turned to writing out the novels that have been stuck in her head for decades.
Her first—An Obstinate, Headstrong Girl, a modern take on Pride and Prejudice that takes place in the Santa Ynez Valley of California—was published in 2014 by local press Alive Books.
Currently she is working on a series of novels set in a small town in Surrey, England, in the year 1800, though an adventure-thriller based in Tennessee is also quite pushy about getting brain-share.
Her stories focus on the ethical dilemmas that decent people fall into for perfectly understandable reasons, and what happens next.
